DAILY CLEANING
The best way to insure that your bath enclosure stays looking new and spotless is through adopting a daily regimen of rinsing the enclosure with clean water and then wiping the metal and glass after use with a non-abrasive cloth or squeegee. By doing this, you will not only remove soap scum and body oils from the enclosure but water spots will be kept to a minimum. (Often, the tap water we use is so ”hard” that mineral deposits remain on the glass and metal after the water dries.)
A squeegee is recommended to clean the shower/tub enclosure after every use.
Regular Maintenance reduces the need for scrubbing and harsh chemical cleaners. |
Many other common household products can be extremely harmful to the anodized aluminum on your enclosure and should be avoided.
-
Test have shown that cleaners can completely destroy the metal finish within 5 minutes of application!
-
Some popular glass cleaners contain Vinegar or Ammonia and can severely damage anodized finishes.
-
Abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, cleansers containing bleach, and acid-based cleaners should never be used on your enclosure as they, too, will damage the metal and glass components.
-
Many so-called “leave on” or “misting” cleaners can damage the plastic parts on your enclosure and should also be avoided
In summary, cleaners you should not use:
- Vinegar or Vinegar-based cleaners
- Abrasive powders
- Steel or Teflon pads
It is extremely important not to scratch the surface of the glass. Tempered glass is a major safety feature of your enclosure and has been specially treated. In the case of breakage, the glass is designed to break into thousands of harmless glass beads rather than sharp splinters. The tempering process puts the glass under a lot of internal pressure and a scratch by an abrasive cleaner, or any sharp object, may compromise the integrity of the glass.
